Chanhassen Parks & Recreation
Residents take pride in the city park system, which has 34 community, neighborhood and open space preserve locations. The City of Chanhassen’s plan is to provide a park within a half-mile of every resident’s front door. With the exception of some of Chanhassen’s more rural areas, this goal has been attained.
Carver County operates the 350-acre Minnewashta Regional Park in western Chanhassen. On its southern border is the Minnesota River Valley Wildlife Refuge. The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum borders Chanhassen to the west.
